AI at Bridge
As many of you are aware, developments in Generative AI present opportunities to elevate individual, team and firm performance like never before. Bridge encourages each of us to consider how these tools can boost efficiency and firm performance and to engage in conversations around the company about the opportunities this technology presents for Bridge.
Generative AI also presents equally novel risks for Bridge in managing its and its investors’ data. To assist employees in their obligations to protect this information, Bridge has implemented the below guidelines for use of generative AI in the workplace. These guidelines exist in support of the “Use of Generative AI in the Workplace” portion of the Information Security Policy in The Employee Handbook.
You may only use a generative Artificial Intelligence tool on Bridge systems, with Bridge data/information or otherwise in connection with your employment if it has been reviewed and approved by Bridge IT (approved tools listed below) and in line with the restrictions below. To request review of a new AI tool or for questions regarding the AI policy, please submit a ServiceNow ticket. You can view a current list of approved AI tools below. This list will be regularly updated.
If you have any questions regarding the use of AI Tools, please contact the IT Service Desk.
Pre-Approved Tools:
All generative AI programs, websites and functions (“AI Tools”) must be approved by the IT department. A list of preapproved tools will be maintained on this page of the Bridge Intranet (“AI at Bridge”). If an AI Tool is not on the list, you must receive approval from your line manager and the IT department to use it. There are no exceptions to this requirement. Uses of AI Tools on firm devices and accounts will be audited and this policy strictly enforced.
Prohibited Uses:
Approved AI Tools must not be used for a Prohibited Use, which includes:
-
Inputting confidential, sensitive or proprietary data (“Confidential Info”) into an AI Tool unless the IT department has approved the AI Tool for use with Confidential Information (see “Can I input Confidential Information” on the Intranet link).
-
Recording or transcribing confidential meetings (investor meetings, strategy meetings, board meetings).
Approving New Tools:
To have an AI Tool added to the Approved AI Tool list, please submit a ServiceNow ticket. IT will evaluate the AI Tool based on known risks and pre-approved criteria. If there is legal agreement in connection with the AI Tool, it must be submitted to Bridge Legal for review at VendorContracts@bridgeig.com.
Account Usage:
When using AI Tools to conduct Bridge business, employees must use an account linked to their Bridge email address.
Ongoing Audit:
Many programs and applications are receiving automatic updates that include additions or expansions of Generative AI functions. AI Tools that once were approved may be removed from the Approved AI Tools list without notice. You are responsible for ensuring that any tool you use is on the Approved AI Tool list when you use it.
Personal Responsibility:
Each of us bear the responsibility to understand the technology we are using and to protect Bridge. Due to Bridge’s exposure to significant regulatory and civil penalties for improper uses of Bridge and investor data, compliance with this policy will be strictly enforced, including a requirement to report any non-compliance with the policy.
Certification:
Employees wanting to use Approved AI Tools will be required to complete annual training and certification on the safe use of Generative AI. The first of these was released this week.

(1) Confidential Information” is proprietary, confidential or sensitive Company, counterparty or investor data or information. When in doubt whether information is Confidential Information, check with your manager.
(2) A Bridge Managed Workspace account is only assigned as a part of a team or a project. This is NOT the same as accessing ChatGPT via the webpage with a Bridge email. If you have any questions as to whether or not you have a Bridge Managed Workspace account, discuss with your manager or the IT team.
